Each third-year resident has supervisory responsibility for the family medicine service for 1½ months. Residents spend 1½ months in their family practice centers, where they provide outpatient care the majority of time and spend dedicated time on office laboratory, nutritional counseling, behavioral counseling, pharmacotherapy management, and management of health systems activities. Residents, who do not plan to practice obstetrics and have fulfilled the OB requirements, are excused from the third year OB rotation and may choose an elective instead. Residents select three months of electives during this year.
