Rotations in Family Medicine / Community Medicine
- Can be entirely outpatient in a comprehensive family medicine office, including OB experience. Inpatient experience with call available (see below).
- Nursing home visits, home visits, home health agencies, and Hospice visits available.
- Didactic sessions available include:
- Family Medicine Resident Teaching Conference, Wednesdays 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Journal Club , Community practice presentation and quarterly M&M.
- PharmD, Behavorial Medicine faculty, and Registered Dietician available for teaching.
- Office-based research electives available.
- Housing available; free meals at conference and when on call; free use of exercise facility.

Family Medicine Inpatient Externship / Acting Internship
- Work alongside family medicine residents and attending physicians in all areas of the hospital, including ER, ICU, Pediatrics, Nursery, Labor and Delivery, Family Medicine Unit, Chest Pain Unit, and Cardiac Unit.
- Share patient care responsibilities as primary physician to specific number of patients.
- Take Call with residents and in-house attendings.
- Experience night float work.
- Participate in teaching rounds at morning report, including presentations of patients admitted.
- May include some office experience with attending physician.
- Didactic sessions available include:
- Family Medicine Resident Teaching Conference, Wednesdays 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Inpatient Family Medicine Teaching Series
- Housing available; free meals at conference and when on call; free use of exercise facility.
