addition to the four family practice centers, residents
benefit from Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast's medical facilities
and resources. There is a dedicated inpatient family medicine
unit located adjacent to a dedicated residency call room/conference
room/lounge area. The 86,224-square-foot Mariam Cannon
Hayes Family Center houses inpatient services for neonatology,
obstetrics and gynecology. The Medical Arts building includes a comprehensive community cancer center, an outpatient diagnostic center, a Women's Health Center, an ambulatory pharmacy and physicians' offices. A 394-seat auditorium and classrooms for medical and community health education are on the lower level of the building. The Clinical Services building, a 220,696-square-foot addition, completed in 1998, offers a new Emergency Care Center, larger surgery suites, a consolidated intensive care unit, an inpatient radiology department, a records storage area, expanded pharmacy, a chapel and a gift shop. It also includes a new main visitor entrance. Construction was completed in 2006 on a two-story addition to this facility to expand intensive care beds and add the Jeff Gordon's Children's Hospital.

___Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast is the only hospital in North Carolina to be named a Top 100 Hospital by Solucient for the past four consecutive years. It has also achieved Magnet Hospital Status for nursing excellence.
