Mary Catherine Moree completed her undergraduate studies at East Carolina University where she obtained both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Mary Catherine was graduated summa cum laude with honors. During her High School years Mary Catherine received the Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service and was selected for Phi Beta Kappa at ECU.
She continued her education at The Brody School of Medicine at ECU. While attending medical school, Mary Catherine took on the role of Community Service Coordinator for the American Medical Association at Brody and helped arrange volunteers for various community outreach projects. She was also a Schweitzer Fellow and completed a project that touched the lives of many children as well as their families by promoting healthy lifestyles for children and to prevent osteoporosis by taking on the healthy lifestyle. She was the graduation marshal for the class of 2009, and won a 1st place poster at the Yash P Kataria Research Day. She is the recipient of the BSOM Annual Fund Scholarship, Schweitzer Fellowship Scholarship, and the Cole Foundation Scholarship. All of her service led to her induction into the Servire Society which is a service organization that honors inductees who perform over 200 hours of service in one year.
Her hobbies include: Traveling, playing the flute and singing, cooking, softball – a member of the Brody Bombers softball team, purple league champions in 2009.
