Victor Vargas, MD from Jersey City, New Jersey graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida with a B.S. in Biology/Premed. He attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. Before attending medical school, Victor was a Hospital Corpsman, 2nd Class in the United States Navy Reserve. In 1992, Victor received the U.S. Navy Humanitarian Award for services provided to citizens in hard to reach areas hit by hurricane Andrew. He also helped establish a medical practice in south Florida, where he started as the phlebotomist, and was promoted to service as the triage nurse, and then as the office manager for ten years.

Victor's hobbies include salsa dancing, digital photography and cooking. He is also fluent in Spanish. Victor will be assigned to the Kannapolis office.
